In an aspiration already associated with a more psychedelic and irreverent aesthetic, our choice for this college project, on a class that explores code on Processing, we directed ourselves towards the sound environments of the band Tool, from the more experimental beginnings of the "Eulogy" song.
It was from this idea of psychedelia and sound progression that we developed a music video through animations generated in Processing, alluding to an illusion of visual elements.

FIGURAS DE ESTILO COLEÇÃO EDITORIAL

Figuras de estilo são estratégias que oradores e escritores usam num discurso ou texto, que procura, criar determinado efeito na interpretação dos ouvintes ou leitores.
Procurando simplificar e facilitar o entendimento das figuras de estilo, esta coleção de capas tem como propósito explicá-las recorrendo a formas básicas para representar os diferentes efeitos que elas proporcionam. Neste sentido, entendemos que as formas a negro são o aparente, o mais evidente e o resultado da utilização de cada figura de estilo. Todavia, as figuras na parte inferior, são a realidade omitida pelas figuras de estilo, e que se apresenta a branco e em baixo relevo.

FEIRA DO LIVRO

The first edition of The Porto Book Fair took place in 1930. It is organized since 2014 by the City Hall and held annually in the Crystal Palace Gardens. The great literary festival develops a cultural and entertainment program for all ages. In this context, we decided to develop a poster that would represent what the book fair is: a place for literature heritage. By using books, we composed the letters of a complete alphabet that would be applied in the promotion of the fair. The purpose of using books to develop these letters was to achieve an expressiveness and harmony that characterizes the spirit of the event.

Ed Fella is a designer who breaks rules and canons of design and typography. With a spontaneous representation, free and tirelessly searching for new forms and solutions, Edward Fella has as object of his consistent work, letterforms. So I developed an identity that reconciled the consistency of the author's work, as well as the spontaneity of his creations, all through the main object of Edward Fella's work: The typography. To do this, I resorted to the encounter of two languages that in theory are opposed, but in this situation, they meet, as in the case of the overlapping and coexistence of a rigorous typography and spontaneous hand-drawn letterforms like those of the author.

In this project, it was proposed to create a series of book covers for different target audiences, but using the same title/story. The idea was to explore how the same story could be represented on book covers that had different areas and audiences. Of the various covers designed, these are some that I selected. In the images are different kinds of covers. Author, novel, children's book, ideal, dated, and scientific covers respectively.

2022

Founded in the year 1947 and renovated in December 2014, Pretinho do Japão is a historic fine grocery store in Porto. The pourpose was to renew/preserve the visual identity of the grocery store. As a base of the work, I used a stamp of one of the first logos of this brand. From this stamp, I developed a careful research and investigation, that allowed me to find the typefaces and other essencial elements that were present in the stamp and consciously update the visual identity.

2020

In the scope of the Introduction to Design course, it was proposed to select an object as a referent for a collection exercise about the everyday life. The object could be formal, poetic or metaphorical, and for my collection I chose to collect "Aldrabas"(knockers) present on the doors of some houses in Porto. After collecting and cataloging the knockers, I reinterpreted them through a typographic family. Illustrating the knockers and some elements that were present on the doors, I composed the various characters of an alphabet, in uppercase.

2021

The goal of the project was to design a photobook that would present Miguel Pinheiro's work in the discovery of some of the Amazonian indigenous people, as well as present some extracts from the interviews he made with them. The sequence of the book was designed according to the different locations, where Miguel has been, and seeks to relate the diverse "stories" that were shared by the people interviewed.

This publication is an object of expressive character that aims to gather and promote Manifestos that were remarkable in the History of Graphic Design. We seek to graphically translate their contents as unique objects, while involving them in a publication that aims to link the idea and the form. This project was done in group, in the scope of the Typography class.

2021

As part of a project related to the Introduction to Design course, it was proposed that we researched about a social problem and created a campaign for it, and for this project I decided to focus on the Destruction of the Brazilian Indigenous Cultures. I  have created a Festival of Indigenous Culture with the name "NOSSA VOZ", which aimed to sensitize people by promoting a place where they can get to know and experience the different indigenous customs and consequently, alert them to the ethnocide of these cultures.

2020

This project was developed with the tricot studio "Ovelhinhas de Lã". The goal was to create a visual identity that showed the simplicity and uniqueness of the work done by the atelier, emphasizing the 100% handmade craft. From the visual identity created, me and my group of colleagues also developed a website that would answer to the atelier's needs and serve as an exposition of the pieces made so far.

2019 - 2022

This is a short selection of some of the posters I have developed over the years, often with the aim of improving my technical program skills and training my visual sensibility. Many of them relate to movies or events, thereby presenting a more commercial nature.
